It is hidden away in the business section of The Age, but I've found an article in which a Morgan Stanley chief economist (and he should know) says that Singapore is poorly managed financially, and the only reason it has done so well is that it was turning a blind eye to the money laundering done by corrupt Indonesian business men and government officials...

I guess in the back of my mind I'd always wondered where the money had gone, and now I know. It would seem that the business community not only knew, it doesn't seem to mind. I mean, as long as the money stays in the market, does it matter if it is there on behalf of mum and dad or on behalf of corrupt Indonesians?

You know the world is fucked up when a person's human rights are violated, and one of the few people screaming for justice is employed by the American Military.
